I'm kind of a comic-book geek, so I can tell you that "Uncanny" is just a descriptive word in the X-men title......Much like the Hulk is "Incredible" and Spider-Man is "Amazing" :)

Yes, I see, but why do they then have two different comic book versions with those titles, for example, in the 1990s, the "Uncanny X-Men" series was up to issue #280 or #300, while the "X-Men" series was up to issue like #30.

Gotcha - I'm pretty sure the Uncanny X-men is the title from the original series (although I would think it would be higher than #300 by now). I know that other spin-offs occur on successful titles like that...kind of like "X-factor".
Hopefully some other folks will have more insight on additional X-men titles.

Money... The X-men comics sell, so the spin-offs are ongoing...
It has been a while since I followed the exploits of the X-men... but here's what I recall...
The X-men were the original team assembled by Professor Charles Xavier and they appear in various combinations in "X-men", "The Astonishing X-men" and "The Uncanny X-men"
A younger group of heroes formed a new school years ago as "X-Factor" and there appears to be a new group in a similar vein appearing as "New X-men."
With various alternate worlds and alternate history storylines going, the X-men and its members also appear in "Exiles" and in titles of the individual members, such as "Storm", "Wolverine", "Nightcrawler" and "Cable/Deadpool"...
Hope that helps...

Personally, I never could understand how the superheroes in these various comics could possibly lead the adventurous lives that they do and maintain a secret identity with a paying job on the side... *grin*
