What is the square root of twelve squared?

Should be 12 unless they've changed the rules since I did maths last. But if you do it on most cheap calculators you'll get 11.999999 as they can't cope peoperly. Jan 17 06, 4:06 PM

Interesting. Depends where the brackets are. [Square root of 12] squared is definitely plus 12. Square root of [12 squared] is plus or minus 12. If JLR would enlighten us as to which he/she means.... Jan 19 06, 3:25 PM
