In the UK, what frequently seen sequence has the initials E,P,C,F,F,S,S and to which items should it legally apply?

This is the nutrition information on foodstuffs – energy, protein, carbohydrates, fat, fibre, sodium, salt.
According to several websites, including the one below and Nestlé’s, the only foods which must carry nutrition information are those for which the manufacturer makes claims such as “low-fat” or “high in polyunsaturates.” If such claims are made, the relevant data must be shown. Otherwise there seems to be no legal requirement for manufacturers to give any information at all in the UK.

Yay TT! In case anyone out there is dieting, page 6 of that site gives a GDA (Guideline Daily Amount) for each of those items.
I gather US food regulations aren't as strict with regard to nutritional info.
