I'd trade Cuba for Western Samoa.

Canada and Mexico - no argument. Western Samoa isn't actually all that close to American Samoa, and the Bahamas might be closer. But if you count the American Virgin Islands as part of the USA, then they are closer by far to the British Virgin Islands than any of the others. Cuba is just out of it according to my Macmillan Atlas.

How about Russia as it is quite close to Alaska?

Not as close on my atlas - I thought of that one!

Every American Embassy is considered US territory...so, all the nations that we have embassies in would be correct answers to this question.

Well, not vounting the embassies then. People do swim from Cuba to the US (it's within earshot of the Florida Keys), but I've never heard of anyone swimming the 100 miles or so across the Berring Strait.

There are a lot more people in Cuba than live near the Bering Strait, and it's a bit cold for sea swimming there too... I still go for the Virgin Islands. And with the cold weather we're having here, I wish I could....

Canada, Mexico, and Russia.
It is only 2.5 miles from Big Diomede Island (part of Russia) and Little Diomede Island (part of Alaska).
