    		China, with the world’s largest population, is the highest overall producer and consumer of meat, but the highest per-capita consumption in the world is that of the United States.Africans consume less than half the global average, and South Asians consume the least, at under 6 kilos per person per year.

    		According to http://earthtrends.wri.org/searchable_db/index.php?theme=8&variable_ID=193&action=select_countries
    the highest per capita in 2002 was the US, with 124.8 kilos/person/year, with St. Lucia next in line at 124.1 and the Bahamas at 123.6.

    The lowest was Bhutan at 3.0, followed by Bangladesh at 3.1 and Burundi at 3.5 kilos/person/year.
