    What is the longest that a cut long stemmed red rose can be expected to stay fresh? What variety of rose and storage conditions are most likely to achieve this?

    		For me over the years mine have lived a fairly long time under high humidity but mildly cool temps. But then again I have only gotten a few regular red roses.

    		Many sites say that there are over 900 varieties of dark-red and medium-red roses and I'm still not sure which is best.
    Outside the Net I have heard a number of tips from crushing the end of the stems to adding a crushed aspirin to the water.
    Why either of those might be expected to work I don't know.
    Anyway, many sites also say that roses last up to about 20 days before wilting.
