    Which part of the human body shares its name with the genus of plant it was named after?

    		The iris of the eye.

    		The iris was named after the ancient goddess of the rainbow due to its being colourful.

    What I had in mind (I think, it's a while ago) was the thymus.
    It is thought that the lymphatic gland at the back of the neck was so named because it vaguely resembles a bunch of thyme, despite being pink.
