At the Battle of Balaklava Heights during the Crimean War an old Erol Flynn movie about the famous "Light Brigade" (you know, "into the valley of death rode the 600") created the impression that the brigade made its charge with such determination because among the troops in the Russian lines was a man with whom the brigade had a grudge from a previous engagement, and the goal of every man in the brigade was to find him and kill him. Is that actually true or is it just another movie myth?

My assumption was that this was entirely dramatic license, and that seems to be the case:

Is it true that Abraham Lincoln had his own personal spy in the South during the American Civil War (a man who reported directly to Lincoln and nobody else) and that Lincoln used the information obtained from this man as a means of checking on what his general staff was telling him about the war, and also as a means of deciding if what the general staff was planning made sense in light of what he already knew from his personal spy?

I heard about a movie where in the final scene a man is condemned to hang near a river, but the rope breaks and he is swept downriver to freedom. We see him eventually run to his house and into the arms of his wife. In the last shot, however, we realize that this was just the condemned man's dream, as we see him hanging from the gallows. Does anyone know the title of this movie?

What movie had the following lines in it, "If you follow the presets it will be a road map to life", and "to find it you just have to look out your own backdoor"?

There was an OLD movie that took place on a ship and most of the actors were unrecognizable. At the end of the movie, the actors paraded in front of the camera so you could actually see who had played any given character. Does anyone know the name of this movie?
