The old term would be half a cycle per second, which is half a Hertz.

The following formula can be used where f=frequency and t=time.
f=1/t
the float bobs 5 times evey 10 seconds giving the wave a period of 2 seconds (10/2). Apllying the formula yields the following result.
f = 1/2 = 0.5Hz
