What N-word, popularized by Nobokov, denotes immature insects that do not have a pupal stage?

Question #63040. Asked by piscesgoddess. (Mar 02 06 2:07 AM)

    Would that be the Nymph?

Nobokov, of course, is famed for "Lolita", the ultimate nymph

    Nabokov meant nymphet, not nymph!

Nabokov was a serious lepidopterist, who knew a thing or two about insects. Butterflies don't have a nymph stage, but the term Nabokov coined, "nymphet," certainly connotes immaturity. Among other things.

Do Venus Flytraps really clamp down on insects or do they simply suck them in? Can they stretch themselves out to "grab" insects? Also, can they eat anything besides insects?

I can't remember the name of a particular video game I once played in the arcade, circa mid 1990s. The game was a fighting type game similar to 'Double Dragon', but I don't think that was it. In the first stage you'd go along fighting for a while until about the middle of the stage where there's a mini-boss as I'd call it; this enemy was clearly tougher than any others in that stage up to that point. Once you get past him and get to the end of the stage, the background changes for the stage boss, I seem to remember purple or pink in the background for this boss battle. From this limited description, can anyone think of the name of the game?
