I do not know if her father is still alive, but Cher does have a sister named Georgianne LaPierre.

Yes, but that is a sister by her mother and stepfather. I am interested to know if Cher's father had any more children.

Cherilyn Sarkasian LaPiere was born in El Centro, Calif., on May 20, 1946. She's the only child of Georgia Holt and John Sarkasian, an Armenian farmer, whom Georgia divorced while pregnant with Cher.

Her father, John Sarkisian, who left the family home when she was a little girl, was a truck driver who married and divorced her mother twice.

This fellow, John Sarkisian, seems to be quite obscure and after searching google extensively I have not been able to find the detailed information you have requested about him.

Cher, who grew up with one half sister, is the daughter of a mother, Georgia, with Irish, English, German and Cherokee bloodlines, and a father, John, whose parents left Armenia after an ethnic-cleansing campaign conducted by the Ottoman Turks in which an estimated 1 million perished. Her parents divorced when Cher was 14 months old, and she enjoyed meaningful contact with her father for only a few months when she was 11 and Georgia and John briefly reconciled. Although her relationship with her father, who died in 1985, was volatile, and the two seldom spoke, Cher will always remember that first sight of his dark eyes. I just looked at him, she recalls. Until then, I didn't know there was such a thing as an Armenian.

Cher was born Cherilyn Sarkisian on May 20, 1946 in El Centro, California. Her early life was very unstable. When Cher was still an infant her mother, who is most commonly known as Georgia Holt, placed the baby in the custody of a nunnery for approximately one year. Even after the child returned home, Holt and John Sarkisian, Cher's father, carried on a tempestuous love-hate relationship during much of Cher's early life. The couple divorced and remarried twice, and ventured a third romance before the relationship ended permanently.
Cher's mother, a part-time model and waitress, then married John Southall. The couple had a daughter together in 1951, but the marriage ended in divorce, as well. Holt and her two daughters lived in dismal poverty until 1961 when Holt married once more, to Gilbert LaPiere. LaPiere, a man of means, adopted the two girls and gave them a comfortable home, but by that time Cher was already rebellious. A star-struck teen-ager, she dropped out of school at age 16.

Rebellion is in the blood. Cherilyn Sarkisian was born in 1946 in EI Centro, Calif. Her part-Cherokee mother, Jackie Jean Crouch (now Georgia Holt), was 18 when she gave birth to Cher. Jackie left her husband, John Sarkisian, a handsome Armenian truck driver who gambled and battled drug addiction, when Cher was just a few months old. (It was a stormy affair: She was married to him twice and lived with him a third time.)
Struggling to stay afloat, Holt briefly placed Cher, barely a toddler, in a Catholic home run by nuns -- visiting her daughter daily. When she had trouble having Cher released, "Mom freaked out," says Georganne. "She remembers it as the most traumatic thing in her life."
Holt, who had Georganne in 1951 with John Southall, an actor (they divorced five years later), worked as a model, movie extra and waitress, says Georganne, whom Cher helped raise. "Mom sweated bullets every year figuring out how to get us new shoes for school," says Georganne. "We came from no money."
That changed about the time Cher hit adolescence and Holt married bank vice president Gilbert La Piere in 1961. He adopted both girls and gave them an upper-middle-class lifestyle in Encino. By then, Cher, whose long, coal-black hair was already her most striking feature, was both rebel and loner. "Cher felt set apart, the odd man out," her sister says. Worn once told her, 'Someday you'll be really glad you look different and are different. You're going to have your time.`

There's just precious little info about Cher's father, and less on the actor.
