The Eagles started as Linda Rondstadt's backing band before going out on their own.

Henley was in a band in Texas called Shilo, while doing studio background vocals for Kenny Rogers & the First Edition.

Ok Chattykat....the "right" answer for this is not any listed below. As the question clearly states "BEFORE" moving to Los Angeles and that would be..........

    BOB SEGER!! ...... CHEERS!

It was Glenn Frey and not Don Henley who sang backup for Bob Seger. Henley was from Texas, Frey from Michigan. Whatever quiz you're playing is asking about the "wrong" Eagle if they expect Bob Seger for the answer.

Biographies for Henley indicate he moved to LA from Texas. That doesn't put him anywhere near Ann Arbor, Michigan, to record with Seger. Both biographies for Seger and Glenn Frey will mention the two of them being good friends, and Frey singing backup for Seger on early recordings before Frey moved to LA.

The "right" answer as far as AskFunTrivia is concerned, is the answer that can be verified from sources such as official biographies and album liner notes. If you guys want to share answers that are being accepted by some radio station, regardless of whether they are accurate or not, please send each other notes. Do not post erroneous information here.

McGruff....MY APOLOGIES!!...you are right! When I did a google search for this question, I just read the results on the search page. I did NOT go into the actual site and READ THE ENTIRE information, I just saw Bob Seger in the same paragraph including Don Henley singing back - up with...etc..etc. I read your post and went back IN the sight and actually read it. It was NOT Don, BUT Glenn Frey.

I will now think twice before opening my trap!!

But I certainly learn a lesson!

Thank-you for "correcting" me on this one!!

But one thing I am curious about is that I couldn't actually find anything that clearly stated WHO he did sing back-up for BEFORE moving, so this question is a little confusing. Every site I found says it was AFTER he moved to Los Angeles he sang back-up for Linda or Kenny.

Strange, but still a little confusing.

I thought you meant the radio station was accepting Bob Seger as the correct answer, in which case, they have the wrong Eagle in their question.

The only opportunity I've found for Don Henley to sing back up for another known musician is the same thing Brainy Blonde has posted on #62595 - Kenny Rogers, but nothing that actually says he sang back up for him.
