Which of the 180 countries with police forces are you thinking of? Or is the answer the sum of all of them?

In the UK, emergency vehicles usually have an siren system with Two-Tone (der-dah), Yelp (WowWowWow) and Howl (OOOooowwwwwwwOOOooowwwww). Howl is used when travelling at speed along a fairly clear major. You switch to Yelp when negotiating junctions. Two-Tone is not so often used, as it doesn't have the same penetrating power. The control box often has an amplifier and microphone as well. When using any of the sirens, the blue lights should be on as well. At night and on clear roads, just the blue lights suffice most of the time. These can be used for lesser emergencies, as well, when you don't have quite the pressure of time to need the sirens. (Been there, done that....)

That's another big difference between the US and UK - the sirens we use.

Whatever they use, it's an improvment on the old gong or bell.
