What is "poor little Nimrod"?

Nimrod, son of Cush, was “a mighty one in the earth” and “a mighty hunter before the Lord” (Genesis, ch 10). Nimrod is certainly Biblical and certainly the term or word Nimrod as it is used today is a direct reference to this Biblical person. Genesis 10:8 - Cush became the father of Nimrod; he was the first on earth to be a mighty man. Genesis 10:9 - He was a mighty hunter before the LORD; therefore it is said, "Like Nimrod a mighty hunter before the LORD." 1 Chronicles 1:10 - Cush was the father of Nimrod; he began to be a mighty one in the earth.
