He starred in two BBC series in 2005 but his first TV appearance was as a "nobody" standing in for a guest star who failed to show on "The Muppet Show". Who is he?

I'm wondering if you are referring to Chris Langham? He was a last minute stand-in replacement for Richard Pryor once on the Muppet Show.

A big Kermitesque yayyy for that Miss Peasy. ;)
Apparently, he was the only British writer on "The Muppets" and went on last minute as "Chris the Delivery Boy".
In 2005, the deadpan Langham won awards for writing and appearing in "Help!" and "The Thick of It".

Ron Howard once made a guest appearance on a sitcom that was built around a TV show, but might possibly have been a radio station. The interviewer seemed to feel he was interviewing Opie, not Ron Howard, and asked about Aunt Bee, Andy, etc. They even asked him to sing the song 'Wells Fargo Wagon' with his lisp. He gave up and actually sang the song before the show ended. I can't remember the name of the show, but hope to find it and maybe see that episode again. Can anyone remember this show?
