Looking for the name of a song (and album if possible): Features Geddy Lee doing a duet with another artist (sounds like Joe Walsh). One of the lines is "Save my life, I'm going down for the last time."

Question #63450. Asked by LeakyPickle.

Here is the only song that I know that contains these lines. It is not Rush, Geddy Lee or Joe Walsh.

Artist: Head East
Song: Never Been Any Reason Lyrics

Did you see any action? Did you make any friends?
Would you like some affection? Before I leave again.

I've been walking behind you, since you've been able to see.
There's never been any reason, for you to think about me.

Did you have any bad dreams, did you break any glass?
Would you be my companion, is there even a chance?

You've been talking in circles, since I've been able to cry.

There's never been any reason, for ever telling me why, yea, yea.

Save my life, I'm going down for the last time.
Woman with the sweet lov'in, better than a white line.
Bring a good feeling ain't had in such a long time.
Save my life, I'm going down for the last time.

Have you ever been lonely? Do you have any fun?
Do you ever think of me? I'm just no one. Yea.
You never give me no answer, you never tell me the truth.
There's never been any reason. For me to think about you.
There's never been any reason.
There's never been any reason. Yea.
There's never been any reason.

Save my life, I'm going down for the last time.
Woman with the sweet lov'in, better than a white line.
Don't you know she could bring a good feeling ain't had in such a long time.
Save my life, I'm going down for the last time.
Whoa.
Save my life, I'm going down for the last time.
Save my life, I'm going down for the last time.
Save my life, I'm going down for the last time.
Save my life, I'm going down for the last time.
Save my life, I'm going down for the last time.

#62387, I sure don't remember this song from the time it was first released. It didn't chart well, and seems to have gotten popular later somehow. Wondering if it was on a movie soundtrack or something.

Head East was a hard rock quintet from St. Louis, Missouri that released their first album, Flat as a Pancake, in 1974 on their own record label selling all 5,000 records and 500 eight-tracks produced. A&M was impressed enough to sign the band and re-release the album in 1975 which went gold by 1978.

Flat as a Pancake would remain their most popular album spawning two charting singles, the well-known anthem "Never Been Any Reason" and "Love Me Tonight", both written by Mike Somerville.

"Never Been Any Reason" is their signature song but it peaked lower (#68) on Billboard's Hot 100 chart than their other two Top 100 singles, "Love Me Tonight" (#54) and "Since You Been Gone" (#46). Their only other charting single was "Got to be Real" (#103).

Interesting! Thanks all! I would have sworn the vocalist in this song (John Schlitt?) was Geddy Lee. Sure sounds like him!

A local morning radio show plays this tune every once in a while, but I was never able to catch the title or artist.

I'll have to find this one and buy it...otherwise it rattles around in my head endlessly :)

Thanks for the offer.
I'll likely get the disc I spotted on Amazon.
Curious to hear some of their other tunes as well!
