Iranian Jews are allowed to practice certain aspects of their religion, but are forbidden to teach Hebrew. They are also constantly being questioned about their national allegiance, often suspected by the government of being spies for Israel or the United States.

Israel will welcome any Iranian Jew who wishes to flee Iran. In fact, in the 1950s several operations went underway to bring immigrants here from Iran, Iraq, Syria, and any number of Arab countries which had suddenly become hostile to their Jews. While we keep an eye on the Iranian Jewish community, and make sure the Iranian government does not mistreat their Jews too much, I'm sure there will be more efforts to bring them here.
