    Question #63824. peasypod asks:

There were only four of these ever made from the original materials. Scattered across America, found in gardens and conservation parks, one of them was in a cemetery, until it became so popular after it was photographed for the cover of a best seller, it had to be removed and placed in a museum. What is it, what was the name of the book, and how is it connected to a trivia fact relating to JM Barrie?

    lanfranco

This is Sylvia Shaw Judson's "Bird Girl," one cast of which was photographed for John Berendt's "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil," and had to be removed from its site owing to enthusiastic visitors.

I'll have to worry about Barrie later, because I need to do something about dinner. Or, perhaps, someone else might like to find this answer?

On lanfranco's link it states that the statue placed in the Savannah cemetery was named "Little Wendy" so there's a wee link with Barrie's "Peter Pan."

Certainly is, well done girls, yay goes to Frankis for the hard bit.

Having been squired around the city by my personal tour guide, I did happen to see replica statuettes of 'Little Wendy', not to mention having the opportunity to stroll past "The" house from the movie. Very educational scenery I must say.

Frankie was busy in the kitchen and probably didn't have time to notice the Wendy bit.
