    I must say your answer looks reasonable, Vema, but we definitely need a site reference for this one.
    Any unreferenced answers here are going to look too much like guesswork.

    I'd say French comes before Spanish. Spanish is more widely taught in the US, but French and English are the foreign languages of choice in Mediterranian countries and in most of Europe.
