Is it true that Samoans populated all of the Polynesian Islands in the South Pacific?

Question #63832. Asked by vaiusu. (Mar 22 06 8:21 PM)

Well, not quite. Polynesian islands have been populated very recently, with less than 4000 years of evidence of human habitation. The migration started from SE Asia, with some evidence supporting Indonesia, the Philipines, and even Taiwan as the starting points. This led to an eastern spread, including Fiji, Samoa and Tonga. Later, these islands became the spreading centers for the rest of Polynesia. Hawaii and New Zealand are among the last islands to be found, with New Zealand being populated for only about 1000 years at this point.

Yeah but i heard,Samoa and TOnga were the first islands to be named "polynesian" because the island HAWAI'I..was first settled from polynesians from Samoa, the island those inhabitant's came from was SAVAI'I in Samoa, that's how Hawai'i was named, its how to say Savai'i in Maui.
