    I'm trying to find the titles and author of two picture books in a series. They were beautifully drawn, about a blond girl who was the rightful queen that was taken over by a very evil man in black. The girl wore her hair in Swedish-like braids over her head. In one scene, she stands up on a table and confronts the evil man. In another scene, a friend lights himself on fire and throws himself from a tower to save her. Can anyone help me?

    What scene is this film from; a group of soldiers jeeringly force a girl to sing for them, then become moved to tears by her beautiful rendition? It may have been an end scene.
