No scientist predicts 'the end of the world' due to polar ice melting. Not one.

i don't believe it was a "smart answer", no scientist would make such a prediction. Even if all the ice melted it would not be the end of the world. maybe the end of the world as we know it and maybe the end of mankinds comfortable existence on this planet, but the planet itself will survive if somewhat altered.

Dudeman, I was not being a smarta_s. I just have some very strong convictions concerning this ice-cap melting scare. It is akin to the 'terror-alert' status (color level)that is broadcast an the news channels.

It is just a control-through-fear ploy initiated and perpetuated by the controling entities that be.

Is there evidence that there has been a reduction in the actual area of polar ice? Yes. This is a cyclical phenomena. It has happen thousands if not millions of times over the history of our planet.

Are we exacerbating this occurance with 'green-house' gasses? Mildly.

El-Nino, La Nina. Always been occuring. We just have the ability to detect and track these 'forces of Mother Nature'.

Do not worry. You, I and or kids, kids, kids, kids, grand kids are going to be just fine.

Do we need to find better ways to spend energies? Heck yes! New ways to create electricity? Undoubtedly! Are we going to choke this planet out of existance? HA! We are ants on a rotting ear of corn in a garbage pail at a picnic comparatively speaking. We can not do it. We do not have the power or the resources to extinguish ourselves this way.

We do need to regroup and rethink our ways of living so we can maintain our level of comfort and laziness.

Be assured that all will be well.
