I'm quite amazed to learn that not a single US airline ever flew before to Cairo, Nairobi, Johannesburg, etc.
What would be the reason for boycotting every country in Africa?

Probably money was the reason. Most of Africa was poor - no money there to make, and no air-conditioned hotels for the tourists. South Africa had money, but that was too long a haul without a stop, and there was nowhere worthwhile on the way. And anyway, Imperial / BOAC / BA flew there already. They probably wouldn't fly to Cairo for fear of upsetting Israel - or the Egyptians wouldn't let them anyway.
