What is the difference between a navel and belly button?

    Question #64622. Asked by sun123. (Apr 14 06 1:49 AM)

They are the same thing, both other names for the umbilicus.

You can also have a Navel orange. Which has a sort of pre-made umbilicus.

Sailors should have belly buttons to avoid confusion...

....and in a crazy lovesick way they are both connected with Venus and Lucrezia Borgia via the culinary repertoire...

And then there's navel gazing, which isn't the same as watching the fleet put into harbour.

I was going to try to work belly bottoms into that but I think I better wait for SOTHC.

Perhaps we better curb our yuks and concentrate on the chances of someone piercing the hub of a wheel...

Belly buttons get lint, but navels have their own jelly.

I've always preferred tortellini to jelly.

(Hey, somebody had to pick up on peasy's remark.)

Just out of curiosity, WHY is belly button fluff blue or bluish in colour? I never believed that it was, as I never got it until about two years ago. Even when I am not wearing blue (not a Blue Baloo), it's bluish at least. And do females get it, or is it a male pecularity?

Oh, quite often I go on fishing trips, Frankie, just to see who's awake around here.....I see I'm going to have to be more specific about a navel being a hub of a wheel, though.

Oh, this should answer the questions. Lots of links, including one to wheels and one to lint.
