A lot of countries use cents, centavos, centimes, etc., to show there are 100 of them in the main currency unit. One country has 100 'thousandths' in its main unit. Which is it?

No - that wasn't a typo. One hundred 'thousandths' in the main unit. There's a few things that are divided into thousandths, but this one is only divided into 100 of them...

Getting close - you're right that fils are thousandths (derived from the French millieme - mil). This place still has only 100 fils to the something. Says so on its official site, too.

Is it not 100 Fils to the Yemeni Rial? Damn, I thought I had it there!

Oops! You're right with both Yemen and UAE and deserve a double Yay.. I missed Yemen. Anyone around know why these places have this oddly named currency?

In Tunisia they have 1000 millimes (millièmes?) for 1 Dinar. I think also other Arab countries may have had this currency previously.

I know there's quite a few places with 1000 milliemes / fils to the whatever, but why do Yemen and UAE only have 100?
