    		I'm thinking it must be something to do with the sheep in 'Far From The Madding Crowd'.

    In Turkey last July there were some suicidal sheep, by all accounts. Scroll way down to the bottom:

    I saw a fairly horrible picture of the aftermath in a magazine recently.
    Sounds like a rare instance of jumping sheep actually causing sleepless nights.
