What is Cleopatra's early childhood experience?

One of probably "many" that helped form her:

From Cleopatra's early childhood she is taught to work only for herself: "instilled very early into my Mind the Notion, that to please myself was the sole Business of my Life, and that every one around me was born to be my Slave"

That quotation comes from the work of 18th-century writer Sarah Fielding ("The Lives of Cleopatra and Octavia," 1757). I don't think it addresses the question:

Well, for one, she and her brother Ptolemy XIII and sister Arsinoƫ witnessed the defeat of their guardian, Pompey in a duel.

That's a childhood experience worth remembering, I guess. Which reminds me, this one is worth noting for answering #64291...
