If I had the opportunity to choose between items of white, pink, red, blue, green, black and lavender, in that order, why would I pick lavender, what are these colours specifically related to, and where would I be?

WELL...one answer would be...You'd be near an Easter Basket...looking at jellybeans...and you'd pick lavender because that is your favorite.

Easter basket with jellybeans eh? Granted it is possible, but no. And these jellybeans are always in a specific numerical order, yes?
Entre nous, thankyou dear passing editor who graciously corrected my lavender----Anyone else, over the age of 21 interested in answering this?
Keep your pants on, that last line is a clue.

These are also colors (usually on the hanger)used to indicate size of clothing at many retailors. (pun)

I need a harder wall to bang my head against.
...or table, even
I see my clues don't stand out as clearly as I expected.

Okay...I'll try again. You are in a gambling casino...you are looking at poker chips...and lavender is the chip with the highest value. You pick the lavender chip because after you cash it in...you can buy more jellybeans!!!

The colours are related to gemstones, possibly diamonds, but I can't quite get a handle on an exact answer.

Or it might be topaz or tourmaline.

Well I guess I could travel to say Marshals or TJ Max or even Bloomingdales and photo these hanger tabs but what would I gain that I do not already have?
Could be you are looking at Diamond colors but the color sequence is out of sync. Seek I shall.
Birthstones out of sync.?

Well, well, well. This is most surprising. The yay goes to zbeck afterall, with the poker chips.
In the United States (the answer to the 'where I would be' bit) these are the standard colours used to differentiate the monetary values of the gaming chips. White being $1 and lavender representing $500.
