    The Hanseatic League was an alliance of trading guilds and cities, beginning with Lubeck, that held a monopoly over Baltic trade and trade in northern Europe for some centuries.

    I ask about the Flemish Hansa, not about the German Hansa. They were two different organizations.

    The Hanseatic League did extend its operations to Bruges in present-day Belgium and many other cities outside of German areas. Information on the earlier Flemish Hansa is extremely limited.

    However, this site on Bruges does offer a little information on the trading and economic relations between Flemish centers and beyond in the 11th/12th centuries, prior to the arrival of the Hanseatic League:
