10/14/03 Eccentric Barbra on Oprah We have all heard the rumors of Barbra’s eccentricity. They were pretty much confirmed on her October 14, 2003 appearance on Oprah. Some of the audience giggled as the elderly Diva (1) described her need to have her outdoor flowers match her indoor furniture, (2) claimed she hated the color orange, (3) painted her microphone off-white so it wouldn’t clash with her sweater, and (4) to top it all, described an experience where she believed her willpower made the color of the mums in her terrace change to match her indoor furniture. To Oprah’s credit, she put together an interesting show, and above all, kept a straight face during this bizarre interview.
