Valerie is buried in the Montparnasse Cementery, in Paris, France. She is in the Jewish section of the cemetery in the MATALON family grave. In the cemetery records, the grave location is listed under Drodelot/Quennessen(but Matalon is the main name), entrance by the Rue Froidevaux.

That is the plot of her Jewish maternal Grandmother. She is in that grave following hebrew female traditions.

Her death in a vehicle accident was 19March 1989.

She was just beginning a comeback as an actress after taking 7 years off to begin a family.
