    Excellent, Maggie -- though Maar's relationship with Picasso lasted longer than the "year" mentioned on your site. (That might be a typo.) As a photographer, she did document the work on "Guernica," for which she received much well-deserved attention.

    This latest sale is another dispiriting example of vastly-inflated art-world prices. The 1940's were not Picasso's best period, but the mere name is enough to send potential buyers scrambling.
