What does it mean if an LCD monitor says works at optimal performance at a certain resolution, will it not operate as fast at a different resolution, or does it use more power at different resolution, what makes it the "optimal" setting?

    Question #65401. Asked by pjotr.

    zbeckabee

The resolution on an LCD can be changed, but if you're running it at a resolution other than its native resolution you will notice a drop in performance or quality.

In terms of image sharpness, when an LCD is running at its native resolution the picture quality is perfectly sharp.
