I have a question between HD Ready and HDTV, originally I was thinkg the image quality of a HD Ready will be equal to HDTV after a HD turner/receiver was installed. However, my local cable tv provider (Charter) told me that HD Ready boots at max 60% of the quality as the HDTV and an HDTV and HD Ready are ready to go with the cable provider's HD receiver. Is that true?

As we haven't got it yet in the UK, I took HD ready to mean that once it's available soon you'd be able to watch it, but you can't advertise a TV as an HDTV if it can't be watched yet as it isn't accurate. Just my take on it.
