    I suspect that the lady in question is Abigail Adams. She is widely remembered for the letter in which she entreated her husband to "remember the ladies" because "all Men would be tyrants if they could."

    I believe it is Abigail Adams - also the first First Lady to dwell in the White House. She was largely responsible for the initial decorating and furnishing of our nation's "mansion".
