What was the first slogan to appear on an automobile license plate?

The 'World Famous Potatoes' slogan on Idaho plates first appeared in 1948, long before the 1956 slogan (which said World Famous Potato, not Potatoes.) Yep it keeps gettin' better to ! In 1937, Connecticut pioneered two innovations in license plates that have become commonplace today. The First is the use of a "Multi-year" permanent base plate.
