Lemon is a mild diuretic and will assist "somewhat" in the reduction of excess water. Some also think lemon makes water more palatable and easier to drink. Bottom line...your body needs plenty of water to function properly and water is also very necessary in the weight loss process.

And of course if you are replacing sugary sodas and other high calorie drinks with lemon water, this will reduce your regular caloric intake.

The only TRUE formula for weight loss is reduced caloric intake with increased activity (exercise). Anything else will be unfruitful.
As for the water/Lemon thing.....Water loss is not the goal in dieting, reduction of stored fat is!
