    What is a Hollywood Coke?

Question #66443. Asked by zbeckabee. (Jun 01 06 8:47 AM)

A Hollywood Coke is a drink that was popular in North Denver some forty years ago at the Scotchman Drive In. It's a mixture of cream, Coca Cola and vanilla with a maraschino cherry. I'm not sure if it originated there or not, but I never saw it offered anywhere else.

"On weekend nights they served nearly 100 pounds of hamburger and used 15 gallons of concentrated Coke syrup. A hot seller was the Hot Kookie, a cinnamon flavored Coke whose name suggested a good looking girl. The Hollywood Coke, flavored with vanilla and cream, was another Scotchman specialty."

Yes, a Hollywood Coke was a coke served with cream, vanilla AND a cherry on top. They were awesome! Served only at The Scotchman.

Here's another link for the Scotchman in Denver.

Because of the "New Coke" blunder will "Coke Classic" ever go back to being just plain old "Coke" or is it a copyright thing?

I’ve long heard that Coke tastes different now compared to how it tasted in the 1970s. I’m not referring to its old original recipe using cocaine, also not referring to the 1986 New Coke Vs. classic Coke fiasco, but rather the rumor that a taste difference occurred when they switched from using sugar to corn syrup. When did this switch happen? Is/was the taste difference discernable?

Who is the girl in the Coke ad walking down the street singing and passing out bottles of Coke to people?
