The 'Vampire Note' of Germany (early 1900’s) shows a picture of a farmer. Why is it called a Vampire Note?

Question #66444. Asked by zbeckabee. (Jun 01 06 8:48 AM)

    casperone123

When first issued in January of 1922 this note was the highest denomination of circulating currency ever issued by the German government. It would soon become small change. The note is sometimes called the "Vampire Note" . If you look carefully, and have a good imagination, you will see a vampire on the neck of the German worker. This was said to represent the French sucking the blood from Germany through the war reparations

Correct...if you enlarge casperone123's picture...and tilt your head to the far right...you can more easily see that as you are looking at the farmer...his right shoulder is the vampire's hat, farmers dark shirt is the vampire's wrap around scarf, vampire's long and very pointed nose runs up the right side of the farmer's neck, vampire's chin runs directly under farmer's chin at mid-mouth.
