Palestine is a separate entity and certainly counts for some economic lists. (The Arab League, after all, is a multinational organization which exists for economic purposes among other things, and Palestine is a part of it.) However, it is my impression that the poorest nation in the Middle East is Saudi Arabia. Mar 01 07, 5:22 PM

According to the CIA Factbook, updated Feb. 8, 2007, Yemen has a per capita GDP of $900 and Saudi Arabia's is $13,800.
