Not unless the animal needs people medicine, which it doesn't......ever.

A people phatmacy is for people. So no they don`t fill prescriptions for animals. You can probably get the animal medicine at the vet.

Not sure about other countries--But in the U.S., as long as the prescription is written by a licensed vet and is a medication that is on hand, a pharmacy can and usually will fill it. Check your local pharmacy--because of the amount of business they do, they can purchase drugs MUCH cheaper than most vets and pass along the savings to you. WONDERFUL if you have a pet on a long-term medication.
Incidentally...there are MANY, MANY drugs that animals take that are thought to only be prescribed for people. i.e.--pheonobarb, tetracycline...etc., etc.

Absolutely. The only difference between Animal meds and People meds is the strength (mgs per dose). There are lots of meds that are Animal specific that you can not get from
your local Apothecary, so the answer to the specifics of question is dependant on which meds you are seeking.

My cat used to have golden eye ointment, and had it been cheaper at the chemist could have got it there. In the UK the only barrier would be the law regarding prescriptions and who is allowed to dispense them, which isn't my area...
