Which is the most powerful country in the world?

    Question #67347. Asked by Banty.

    MyAlias

I would have to say that China is the most powerful.

    1: Sheer number of inhabitants.

2: Desire of other countries to establish business with and in.

3: The government's control of its citizens.

    4: Size of Military.

    5: Vastness of natural resources.

The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) which includes an army, navy, air force, and strategic nuclear forces, serves as the military of the People's Republic of China (PRC). Its 2.25-million-strong force makes it the largest standing army in the world, in terms of number of troops (3.25 million if active paramilitary personnel are included).

This is only 1 of 5 major points that I stated.

The fact that so many countries are scrambling to do business in and with China puts them in a position of EXTREME power.

The amount of capital is astronomical.

America's power is unrivalled. It has no military, economic, or political competitors. As the biggest billiard ball on the table, it can force all others to move in its direction. In world politics, power rules and absolute power rules absolutely. This is the Bush worldview, and it has a lot going for it. America can achieve much of what it wants because of its sheer dominance in world affairs. Power is unimportant only to those who do not have it.
