In an Errol Morris film, the audience is introduced to an individual who once caught fish in a very unique manner. What was the film and what was the method he used?

Could this be the film 'Vernon, Florida'? Scenes of a dead something-or-other with a hole through its throat in which he flung his hook prevail in the script.

    Nice.
The individual noted a perch was hiding/living in the carcass of a dead mule...he pulls the mule out of the water, and discovers that 114 warmouth perch were in fact using the carcass as shelter.
