    Citizens of St Augustine, Florida are justly proud of their city being the oldest in the New World. It was originally a Spanish City called San Agustin. How come that it has not kept its Spanish name, like the cities in California such as San Francisco, Los Angeles, Santa Cruz, etc, have?

    		I think because the French captured it at some point and changed the name.
