    Who was the last man to win Wimbledon wearing long trousers? And who was the first to win wearing shorts?

    		1939 was the last year Wimbledon players wore long trousers, and the winner that year was Bobby Riggs. There was a break from Wmibledon for a few years due to the Second World War then the first players back wore shorts, the winner then being Yvon Petra.

    		1946: Frenchman Yvan Petra took the plaudits and has a place in history as the last man to be crowned champion having played in trousers.
    1947: American Jack Kramer won wearing shorts.
