What does the term 'born again' mean and who used it in the Bible?

Question #6749. Asked by Elizabeth. (Oct 06 00 8:57 PM)

    Odonnell

One night Jesus told Nicodemus that, "Except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God" (John 3:3) The term 'born again' meant to view things in a different or new light. It didn't mean to forget all sins of a lifetime and begin a new life without cause and effect or repentance as like modern Christian Fundamentalists believe. It meant in the very moment of your existance to begin anew ...to see life for what it is. It had no relevance to being Christian but, to philosophy.
