Following zbeck..s reference I see it says: More than 60 million tons of tomatoes are produced per year, 16 million tons more than the second most popular fruit, the banana. Apples are the third most popular (36 million tons), then oranges (34 million tons) and watermelons (22 million tons). So the order seems to be 1:tomato, 2:banana, 3:apple, 4:orange, 5:watermelon. Ignoring tomatoes which are seldom eaten as fruit, the first three seem to be just what dino.. said in the beginning. Jun 28 06, 7:03 AM
