Nelson's Pillar, the Dublin counterpart of Nelson's Column. Blown up by a(n allegedly) rogue IRA unit to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Easter Rising, the top 3/4 were destroyed in the explosion. The army's controlled explosion to finish the job off caused widespread damage. The legend says Nelson's head was never found, and is now somebody's souvenir.

The official name of the monument was "The Nelson Pillar", but it was always known as "Nelson's Pillar" to Dubliners.
