    Is the Eurovision Song Contest heard of in the United States, and if so, is it re-shown in America at a later date?

    		Some people are aware of the contest, though not a great many. Fans of the "Riverdance" show, which became popular here in the U.S., are often aware that it first appeared on the contest.

    So far as I know, the contest hasn't been broadcast here, although excerpts may have been shown -- possibly on cable? According to this site, the U.S. network NBC is planning to do a U.S. version involving entrants from the 50 states:
