    What is gutta-percha?

    		It is a tree native to south east Asia, and the latex that is taken from it.

    		It used to be used for the middle bit of golf balls. The earliest ones were stuffed with feathers, and then they went on to use gutta-percha - and they got the nickname 'gutties' from that. No idea what they use now.
